Repair Room Therapy is a place to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what has been happening beneath the surface.
The patterns that keep hurting you can change.
I’m Nicole Kelly, M.A., LMFT Certified Emotional Focused Therapist and founder of Repair Room Therapy. I offer relationship-centered therapy for couples, individuals, and co-parents in Charlotte, North Carolina, and online throughout the state.
Over the past several years, I have worked alongside couples, individuals, and families navigating relationship stress, emotional distance, grief, major life transitions, and seasons of rebuilding. I have supported couples working to better understand painful patterns and reconnect, as well as individuals learning to trust themselves, strengthen boundaries, and move forward after heartbreak or relational loss.
My experience with the Wounded Warrior Project program also deepened my understanding of the ways military life, caregiving, transition, and everyday pressure can affect a person’s wellbeing, family life, and relationships.
I believe that when life feels heavy, people need more than advice. They need a space to be honest about what hurts, understand the patterns they are living in, and move toward something steadier—with more clarity, emotional safety, self-trust, and care.

The Heart and The Method
Repair Room Therapy was built on the belief that relationships can be both deeply meaningful and deeply challenging at times. I believe healthy love is not about finding a perfect person or avoiding every hard moment. It is about becoming more loyal to yourself, recognizing emotional safety, and choosing relationships where honesty, mutual effort, and repair are possible.
That’s why Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is how I guide my work with couples and individuals. I am a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, and I use EFT to help couples and individuals slow down and understand what is really driving the disconnect, the conflict, the self-doubt, and the hurt beneath it. EFT is attachment-based, emotionally grounded work that helps people move beyond blame and toward new, more secure ways of relating.
My goal isn’t to turn your relationship into a “project,” or to assume you or your story are broken beyond care. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can meet painful patterns with curiosity, not shame. A place where you can practice what repair, clarity, and emotional safety look like in real life.
Because meaningful change doesn’t require perfection. It begins when we can offer ourselves and each other enough honesty, safety, and compassion to try something different.
THESE BELIEFS ARE NOT JUST WORDS
I believe in
At Repair Room Therapy, my work is guided by core values that shape every interaction, every session, and every space I hold. These beliefs are not just words—they’re woven into how I show up for you.
Compassion creates the safety needed for healing.
I believe healing begins with being met with care, empathy, and understanding. Compassion creates the safety people need to show up honestly and begin to heal.
Resilience is staying with yourself through hard places.
I believe healing is a journey that takes courage, patience, and the willingness to keep going, even when things feel hard. Resilience is not about having it all figured out. It’s about staying with yourself through the process.
Connection helps us to heal, repair, and move forward.
I believe healing happens in relationship, whether that means reconnecting with yourself, repairing with a partner, or finding your footing again after heartbreak or change. Real connection helps us feel seen, supported, and less alone.
